• The majority of respondents (64%) report an increase in the number of requests received last year;
• “Increased interest in government transparency” seen as main driver for growth (47%);
• 39% of respondents see increase in the number of complaints and litigation related to open records requests;
• More than half of respondents (59%) see difference in complexity of the requests;
• Identification and collection (43%) and review and redaction (33%) named as most burdensome aspects of the request process;
• Almost one third of the respondents do not use specialized technology to facilitate the record requests.
