Advanced search capabilities — ZyIMAGE finds more information, quicker ZyLAB has its own unique search technology that has been developed in partnership with the most demanding organizations in support of many high-profile investigations. Unlike “popular” search engines such as Google, which is focused on finding only the “best” hits, ZyLAB’s focus has always been on finding all potentially relevant documents. For e-mail, electronic files and scanned documents, ZyLAB offers the highest recall due to advanced full-text search techniques such as fuzzy, quorum, (directed and non-directed) proximity, complex Booleans, wildcards, key field, concept, and many others, all of which are available without compromising our exceptional search speed (due to highly efficient word and character encoding algorithms). All search tools are supported by several forms of relevancy ranking. In addition, ZyLAB can find “hidden” components in complex document formats such as e-mail attachments, compressed files and intricate database structures. Even if you search for words not literally in the document, or ones that are hidden in file or document properties, ZyLAB can find the information with advanced concept search and text analytics technology. We also offer speaker identification and word spotting techniques for searching sound and video recordings. Fuzzy and wildcard searching — the optimal way to retrieve hard-to-find information Both of these capabilities are particularly relevant to legal, intelligence and knowledge management applications in which spelling, scanning and transliteration errors are a common occurrence. ZyLAB created its own proprietary fuzzy search technology that locates all occurrences of a word, together with other words that are close in spelling (the “closeness” of which are based on user specifications). ZyLAB’s fuzzy search is optimized to detect optical character recognition (OCR) errors, misspellings and spelling variations in names that are derived from non-roman scripts such as Cyrillic, Arabic, Farsi, Hindi, Hebrew, Chinese and Japanese. Our fuzzy search capabilities are designed to be effective even if the first character of a word is different from the query word. In addition, ZyLAB supports all wildcard configurations. Whether the format is WORD*, *WORD, *WORD* or WO*RD, ZyIMAGE wildcard features provide the highest quality returns at optimal speed. A main advantage of ZyLAB's fuzzy and wildcard algorithms is that the search engine is language and application independent and does not need to be "trained" like many other products. Also, the search engine has a very high degree of precision, even at exaggerated fuzzy settings, and the difference in performance between large and smaller data sets is negligible. XML storage — the most open and secure framework for managing data The central element of the ZyIMAGE IAP product suite is the large XML data repository that stores all unstructured data. Integrated functionalities enable users to capture and add new data, analyze and collaborate, and retrieve and share information. Because an XML foundation drives ZyIMAGE’s modular structure, ZyIMAGE is completely scalable, which means it is a perfect solution for both small and medium sized businesses as well as large-scale production environments.
