Edmund Nuttall Limited Nominated for Organizational Excellence Award in Construction & Manufacturing Organization of the Year Category
Vienna, VA – October 22, 2007 – ZyLAB, an innovative developer of Information Access Solutions, today announced that its customer, Edmund Nuttall Limited, a British civil engineering contractor, has been named as a finalist in the British Computer Society (BCS) IT Industry Awards 2007. The company is nominated for the Organizational Excellence, Construction & Manufacturing Organization of the Year. Winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel, London on the evening of December 6.
Edmund Nuttall first implemented ZyLAB's ZyIMAGE information access solution within the accounting department. The installation has resulted in the accounting department's ability to provide signed purchase orders to project managers within 12 hours of sign off, a process that used to take days. This is key, once a project manager is aware that a purchase order is signed off they can plan deliveries and work schedules. Equally, major efficiencies have been realized from the purchase order process being changed such as a 20 percent increase in efficiency related to cutting down paperwork, dissemination and filing.
Further, with over 25,000 invoices received each month, the installation of ZyIMAGE has saved Edmund Nuttall over 830 man hours every month. Historically the staff would have to find the physical purchase order, requiring them to get up from their desks and locate the associated invoice, a task that on average took two minutes. With ZyIMAGE users can pull up a copy of the purchase order in seconds.
By starting in the accounting department, an area traditionally weighed down with paper, users were able to demonstrate that they could keep and retrieve vital documents from electronic archives and do so easily with non-technical staff. Internally, the ZyIMAGE installation gained wide exposure which generated demand for the solution across other lines of business. Today, Edmund Nuttall has rolled out the ZyIMAGE system to support project documentation, orders, invoices, remittance advices, pensions, business development IT documents and more.
The ZyIMAGE Information Access Platform (IAP) is a complete XML-based system that provides a robust foundation for the archiving and long-term management of organizations' critical information assets, including digitized paper documents, electronic files, e-mail and attachments, and multimedia. The IAP's comprehensive core technology enables users to find, access, and organize specific data through a standard browser in a quick, easy, and secure fashion. Users can add additional modules to create the exact, cost-effective solution they require for specific types of projects or business processes including records management, workflow, e-discovery and e-disclosure.
