European Anti-Fraud Office Selects ZyLAB to Provide Advanced Text-Mining and Records Management Technologies

ZyLAB wins European tender to supply OLAF with comprehensive multilingual text-mining and records management application

January 13, 2006 -Vienna - ZyLAB, an innovative developer of Information Access Solutions, today announced that it has signed a deal with the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) to be its exclusive provider of multilingual text-mining and records management technologies.

OLAF required a fully integrated record management application (RMA), as well as the ability to conduct sophisticated linguistic analysis of electronic documents ("text mining"). The ZyLAB installation meets these goals and more by enabling OLAF to perform advanced investigative techniques such as full-text searches; named entity recognition; manual, semi-automated and automated taxonomy creation: document clustering; information extraction; and visualization of document properties, clusters and extracted entities and facts.

Based on technologies developed by ZyLAB and Inxight Software, the comprehensive software solution ZyLAB will implement for OLAF fully supports a wide range of languages including Greek, Hungarian, Polish, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Russian.

Overall, this unique solution contains the most advanced technology available for handling large-scale fraud and criminal investigations while not compromising European privacy and data protection acts.

About OLAF
The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) was created by Commission Decision 1999/352/CE. OLAF is charged with protecting the financial and other interests of the Community against fraud and irregular conduct in respect to both the income and expenditure of the Communities, wherever this may have occurred.
