New Solution Offers Agencies an "Out-of-the-Box" Method
for Imaging, Storing, Searching and Streamlining Investigative Records
Related to Background Checks
McLean, Virginia, May 27th, 2004 - ZyLAB, an established
market leader of document imaging and full-text retrieval software,
today announced a new solution specifically to support Federal government
agencies' efforts in streamlining the clearance and background investigation
process. ZyIMAGE offers Federal agencies with an end-to-end and
simple to install solution that enables agencies to image, store
and search information relating to background clearance checks.
Available immediately, the new ZyIMAGE solution is in early use
within the Department of Commerce and within an intelligence agency.
One of the Bush administration's e-government initiatives, this
effort is seen as a top priority across the entire Federal government.
Agencies are looking to reduce the burden on people applying for
government jobs, cut the time it takes to process clearances and
reduce duplication. Traditionally a paper-intensive clearance process,
agencies are looking to automate the process by moving to electronic
records management.
ZyImage transfers paper archives into full-text searchable Web-based
filing cabinets. It offers a solution that transfers paper documents
into electronic files, as well as makes these files easy-to-use
once they are available online. In addition, ZyIMAGE offers a simple
and straightforward interface is extremely important. Users benefit
from:
- Being able to view and manipulate the images and electronic files,
which are stored in industry-standard formats - Using the Internet
or an intranet to access the information - Retrieving the requested
document in its original form, with the searched text clearly highlighted
- Sharing information internally and across different agencies
