ZyLAB's Paper Filing Server Solution Offers Channel Organizations with Comprehensive and Affordable Document Management and Information Retrieval Solution

August 23, 2004 - McLean, VA - ZyLAB, an established market leader of document imaging and information retrieval software, today announced that it has unveiled its new Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Reseller Channel Partner Program. ZyLAB will offer channel partners its Paper Filing Server, a feature-rich, open source, Web-enabled, and affordable document management and information retrieval solution. ZyLAB partners are encouraged to private label the Paper Filing Server solution to leverage existing customer relationships and brand loyalty. Initially, the company is targeting Copier Manufacturers/OEMs and large Copier Dealers; Multi-Function Peripheral Manufacturers and Storage Hardware Providers.

Instead of filing documents in a traditional filing cabinet, organizations scan their paper-based files electronically into the Paper Filing Server. The Server utilizes an advanced search engine making sure that users can retrieve all filed documents in seconds. Using a standard Internet browser, documents are viewed in their original format as if they are still on paper. In addition, the advanced "hit highlighting and navigation" tools enable users to efficiently search documents and quickly identify key words. ZyLAB's solution does not use proprietary file structures. The Paper Filing Server stores documents using open standard formats ensuring future document access and integrity. An average Paper Filing Server can store up to 3,000,000 pages and can be used by up to 1,000 users.

ZyLAB has established several goals for its new Channel Partner Program, including:

  • Provide ZyLAB resellers the tools to quickly generate new revenue streams in their traditional markets by developing opportunities to sell ZyLAB software with their data capturing hardware devices (multifunction peripherals, digital copiers, scanners, etc.).
  • Shorten the learning curve for resellers who want to expand into new markets by combining their existing product expertise with ZyLAB's document management solutions.
  • Facilitate the positioning of ZyLAB reseller's sales force as document management experts delivering value by solving customer problems.
  • Offer ZyLAB resellers the ability to provide a complete document management solution with an expedited go-to-market implementation.

After a company signs on to be a ZyLAB business partner they will receive an extensive Value Added Reseller Kit that includes the software and marketing materials necessary to sell ZyLAB's Paper Filing Server solution. At least one business partner system engineer is required to complete the three-day ZyLAB technical training course. The new streamlined Partner Program means sales consultants can complete the necessary sales and product training in one day. Once the technical and sales personnel have successfully completed the training seminars then the ZyLAB Business partner is market ready.
