| ZyLAB ENHANCES ZYIMAGE 5.0 WITH NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART VISUALIZATION MODULE

Addition of New Visualization Module Enables Archived Information to be Found and Investigated Up to 62% Faster than Traditional Viewing Methods
April 27, 2004 - McLean, VA - ZyLAB, an established market leader of document imaging and information retrieval software, today announced the immediate availability of its new Visualization Module. The ZyIMAGE Visualization Module provides two new ways for users to quickly and effectively view and assess large amounts of structured data.
This new Visualization Module creates dynamic, interactive overviews of structured data, thereby surpassing traditional table and folder structures as the best way to handle large amounts of information. The tooling in the module uses "tree" overview structures to enable users to find and access information up to 62% faster, in large part because all the available information is on-screen at one time, presented in easy-to-view, non-linear models. The ZyIMAGE Visualization Module alleviates one of the main problems inherent in traditional file structures: traditional structures do not allow users to view any item not currently featured on screen, which can be a real problem in environments where users must regularly work with hundreds of files. A collapsible folder structure becomes too unwieldy if users have to drill down into multiple folder paths, and the constant scrolling required by a table structure creates a difficult viewing environment for efficient and accurate data investigation.
The ZyIMAGE Visualization Module, however, provides a hyperbolic tree with interactive, color-coded file nodes and a "mosaic" tree map in which file characteristics and associations are represented as size-relative and uniquely colored tiles. These structures are built to optimize the "select, zoom, then filter" way people have been found to actually process visual information. In fact, because these structures allow direct access to information and do not require users to continually reorient themselves, the ZyIMAGE Visualization Module is the ideal information investigation tool for data-intensive applications in the research and development, channel and customer management, and government fields.
