ZyLAB applies for DoD 5015.2-STD certification

Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 6 January 2003 — ZyLAB, a top developer of document imaging and full-text retrieval software, has applied for Department of Defense (DoD) 5015.2-STD certification.

About DoD 5015.2-STD, the standard for Record Management Applications (RMAs)
The June 2002 revised version of DoD 5015.2-STD defines the basic requirements that record management application (RMA) products must meet in order to be acquired by the Department of Defense (DoD) and its auxiliary units in the USA. This standard also defines the requirements for RMAs that manage classified records. All of these requirements are based on operational, legislative and legal frameworks defined by the Department of Defense.

Becoming certified in this standard is now a priority for companies that want to establish themselves as major players in the Electronic Document Management (EDM) market. These companies recognize that if they are going to invest in the development of EDM technology, they need to do so in accordance with DoD requirements, which is becoming the worldwide standard as well.

ZyIMAGE product suite complies with the DoD standard
New functionality has been added to the ZyIMAGE product suite to support RMA requirements, such as document security, audit trail monitoring and version control. These new functionalities, coupled with all the other ZyIMAGE functionalities, make the ZyIMAGE product suite fully compliant with the DoD 5015.2-STD requirements.
