McLean, Virginia, April 9, 2003 ZyLAB, a developer
of document imaging and full-text retrieval software, today unveiled
ZyIMAGE Legal, a records management solution built specifically
to support the legal industry. During the past two years, this solution
was developed in close cooperation with ZyLAB customers such as
the United Nations War Tribunal, several classified defense organizations
and many international law firms.
During a case, huge amounts of data are collected and must
provide legal teams the ability to find and cross-reference specific
bits of information among the collected data, said Johannes
Scholtes, president of ZyLAB North America, LLC. Often times,
the collected data appears in various languages, in all types of
formats, and needs to be manually reviewed and organized. This presents
a time-consuming, inefficient, and often inaccurate way to manage
investigative data. ZyIMAGE Legal combats these issues in data management
by providing an integrated records management and archival solution
for end users.
To address this data information challenge, ZyLAB designed ZyIMAGE
Legal to fit the distinct needs of the legal industry. The ZyIMAGE
Legal solution enables legal professionals to:
- Access all relevant paper, electronic, and e-mail documents
from a single point, which assures that information is not missed
- Find results and conclusions faster
- Improve efficiency by using the advanced search techniques
- Easily export or print all relevant information to share with
other parties
- Search e-mail messages and attachments
- Access information in over 90 languages
- Process spelling variations and misspelled words due to ZyIMAGEs
fuzzy search and retrieval capabilities
ZyIMAGE Legal creates transparency in data collections, enabling
stored information to be retrieved in just a few seconds,
said Teele Horstra, vice president of Business Development, ZyLAB
North America, LLC. A vital role in the legal industry is
to have a fast and easy access to information across all systems.
ZyIMAGE provides immediate access to this information and improves
the efficiency of investigative teams by using advanced search techniques.
For the past 10 years, the United Nations War Crimes Tribunals
has utilized, and continues to use, ZyLAB software in Yugoslavia
as well as in the Rwanda courts. Other users include the US Office
of the Attorney General, Canadian Supreme Court, and the Delaware
Superior Court.
