ZYLAB LAUNCHES RECORDS MANAGEMENT SOLUTION FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT, SECURITY, AND INTELLIGENCE INDUSTRIES

Software Built in Close Partnership with Law Enforcement and Defense Agencies

McLean, Virginia, April 9, 2003 - ZyLAB, a developer of document imaging and full-text retrieval software, today unveiled ZyIMAGE Investigate, a records management solution built specifically for the security, intelligence, and law enforcement industries. During the past two years, this solution was developed in close cooperation with ZyLAB customers such as the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal, several classified defense organizations and a variety of local and federal law enforcement agencies.

"During an investigation process, huge amounts of data are collected and must provide investigative teams the ability to find and cross-reference specific bits of information among the collected data," said Johannes Scholtes, president of ZyLAB North America, LLC. "Often times, the collected data appears in various languages, in all types of formats, and needs to be manually reviewed and organized. This presents a time-consuming, inefficient, and often inaccurate way to manage investigative data. ZyIMAGE Investigate is uniquely designed to combat these issues in records management by providing an integrated records management and archival solution for end users."
ZyIMAGE Investigate enables law enforcement, security, and intelligence users to perform the following key functions:

  • Access all relevant paper, electronic, and e-mail documents from a single point, which assures that information is not missed
  • Improve the efficiency of investigative team by using the advance full-text retrieval
  • Easily export or print all relevant information to share with other parties
  • Find results and conclusions faster
  • Search documents in over 90 languages, including Arabic, Farsi and Russian
  • Log activity (ZyIMAGE Investigate is 100% auditable)

"ZyIMAGE Investigate creates transparency in data collections, enabling stored information to be retrieved in just a few seconds," said Teele Horstra, vice president of Business Development, ZyLAB North America, LLC. "A vital role in the law enforcement industry is to have fast and easy access to information across all systems. ZyIMAGE Investigate provides immediate access to this information and improves efficiency by using advanced search techniques."

For the past 10 years, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has utilized, and continues to use, ZyLAB software with investigations such as the ongoing Enron case, the Oklahoma City and Atlanta bombings, and the 9-11 tragedy. Other users include the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), the US Armed Forces, US Department of Defense (DoD), and United Nations War Crimes Tribunal prosecution team.
