McLean, VA - January 05, 2009 - ZyLAB, an innovative developer of Information Access Solutions, today announced that the company has received a "Strong Positive" rating in Gartner's "MarketScope for E-Discovery Software Product Vendors, 2008" report (Debra Logan, John Bace, and Whit Andrews, December 17, 2008. According to the report, "the e-discovery market includes products and services that allow electronically stored information (ESI) of all types to be identified, preserved, collected, processed, reviewed, produced and managed over a period of time."
Gartner considers companies receiving a "Strong Positive" rating to be "viewed as a provider of strategic products, services or solutions. Customers should continue with planned investments, and potential customers should consider this vendor a strong choice for strategic investments."
The ZyIMAGE e-Discovery suite offers organizations an integrated e-discovery management solution that captures, investigates, structures and discloses information in a simple, secure and efficient manner. The solution is built on a stable XML data repository and provides users with investigative tools to search, retrieve and archive vital information through a standard Internet browser. All unstructured data is stored for as long as it's needed, and integrated functionalities enable users to capture and add new data, analyze and collaborate on the data, redact specific pieces of information (if required), and retrieve and share files. Because of its modular structure, ZyIMAGE is completely scalable and therefore provides a solution to address organizational requirements at both departmental and enterprise-wide levels.
ZyLAB is actively involved with the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Project to share best practices for managing the e-discovery processes, from the initial management of electronically stored information all the way to the ultimate presentation of that information. The reference model provides a common, flexible and extensible framework for the development, selection, evaluation and use of electronic discovery products and services. Information about EDRM is available at www.edrm.net.
"ZyLAB offers a very robust end-to-end e-discovery software platform that is ideally suited for numerous organizations ranging from law firms, corporations, the judiciary and legal service providers," said Dr. Johannes Scholtes, President of ZyLAB North America LLC. "It is a great achievement to be recognized as a key player in the e-Discovery market by one of the most well-respected analyst firms in the world. We anticipate continued growth in our e-Discovery sales in 2009."
In the report, Gartner notes that spending on e-Discovery software technologies and services offerings is forecast to grow between 25-35% annually through 2012 ("Dataquest Insight: E-Discovery Market Drives New Information Governance Investments"). The report also states that "Enterprises purchasing e-discovery software can reduce the costs of litigation by improving their control over unstructured content, and semi-structured content, most notably e-mail. Also, they can cut costs and risks by taking control of litigation hold, litigation-hold tracking, file collection, file processing and legal review instead of outsourcing these functions."
