ZyLAB Positioned in Research Firm's Leaders Quadrant for Information Access Technology, 2007
Leaders have established sufficient depth and strength to serve as platform vendors whose software might be used to solve most information access problems
McLean, VA - September 10, 2007 - ZyLAB, an innovative developer of Information Access Solutions, today announced that Gartner Inc., a research and advisory firm, positioned ZyLAB in the "Leaders" quadrant in its Magic Quadrant for Information Access Technology, 2007. *
According to the Gartner report, "all Leaders have demonstrated significant architectural flexibility. They also have a strong, innovative and broad means of determining relevancy of return results to users and providing developers with the flexibility and appropriate tools to tune these relevancy settings. They are financially prepared to weather hard times, and they possess sufficient resources to invest inorganically and organically in technology and business growth. They have established sufficient depth and strength to serve as platform vendors whose software might be used to solve most information access problems."
The ZyIMAGE Information Access Platform (IAP) is a complete XML-based system that provides a robust foundation for the archiving and long-term management of organizations' critical information assets, including digitized paper documents, electronic files, e-mail and attachments, and multimedia. The IAP's comprehensive core technology enables users to find, access, and organize specific data through a standard browser in a quick, easy, and secure fashion. Users can add additional modules to create the exact, cost-effective solution they require for specific types of projects or business processes including records management, workflow, e-discovery and e-disclosure.
"We think this is a great accomplishment to be positioned in the leaders quadrant by Gartner," said Dr. Johannes Scholtes, President of ZyLAB North America LLC. "Our IAP is built as a flexible and open solution to meet the unique needs of our customers, not a one-size-fit-all approach that many vendors try to push. We believe this report offers third-party validation that backs our technology and business vision and importantly our ability to execute."
According to the report, “this Magic Quadrant includes vendors with capabilities that go beyond enterprise search to encompass a collection of technologies, including: search; content classification, categorization and clustering; fact and entity extraction; taxonomy creation and management; information presentation to support analysis and understanding; and desktop search to address user-controlled repositories to locate and invoke documents, data, e-mail and intelligence."
