ThyssenKrupp Helps High-Volume Automotive and Machine Manufacturing Plant Save $67,000 Per Year in Labor Costs Using ZyIMAGE to Manage Facility Documentation
McLean, VA - June 16, 2007 - ZyLAB, an innovative developer of Information Access Solutions, today announced ThyssenKrupp, one of the world's leading steel and business service providers, is actively using ZyLAB's ZyIMAGE platform to support several large customer's document management requirements and help streamline overall operational efficiency.
One of ThyssenKrupp Materials Sverige AB's key customers is a large, high-volume automotive and machine manufacturing plant. Each day, this facility must manage hundreds of inbound and outbound deliveries, each which carries with it a considerable amount of paper and electronic documentation that must be archived and available to a variety of business units.
In order to stay competitive and ensure optimal client value, the ThyssenKrupp team decided to replace their current method of physically certifying and monitoring files with an automated solution capable of quickly processing all relevant documentation and make important documents available online to all employees. The ThyssenKrupp team chose and implemented ZyLAB's integrated ZyIMAGE solution, an XML-based platform that offers comprehensive functionality to digitally scan, archive, search, and retrieve millions of pages of digitalized paper and electronic files, as well as any multimedia files or e-mails and attachments. ZyIMAGE also provides full-text search capabilities on the content of documents, regardless of format, enhance the overall efficiency of the information gathering process.
"Today, entire collections of seven vital document types are stored in our ZyIMAGE archiving system," said Morgan Carlsson, IT Director, ThyssenKrupp. "Employees now have total and immediate online access to these documents rather than having to physically search for them in file cabinets."
The integration of the ThyssenKrupp ZyIMAGE solution is set up to be accessible to about 60 employees. The intuitiveness of ZyIMAGE enables users to search for and find documents in a faster and more accurate fashion, with less upfront knowledge needed to search for the information. This improved operational efficiency has saved the client approximately $67,000 in the past year.
ThyssenKrupp's ZyIMAGE system addresses additional high-level objectives, which include enhancing the overall quality management information system, improving customer satisfaction according to ISO 9001:2000 standards, and minimizing the use of paper (in line with ISO 14001:2004 environmental obligations).
"ZyLAB is proud to collaborate with ThyssenKrupp to help maintain and improve its client's documentation processes," said Dr. Johannes Scholtes, President, ZyLAB North America LLC.
