Research Firm Includes ZyLAB in Three Technology Hype Cycles - Government Transformation; Content Management; and Governance, Risk and Compliance

ZyLAB Identified as a Representative Vendor that Delivers E-Discovery and Records Management Solutions

McLean, VA - September 8, 2010 - ZyLAB, a leading provider of e-discovery and information management solutions, today announced that the company is included in the Gartner "Hype Cycle for Government Transformation, 2010" as a sample vendor within the section focused on e-discovery for government. In addition, ZyLAB is called out as a sample vendor in both the e-discovery and records management sections of the "Hype Cycle for Content Management, 2010" and the "Hype Cycle for Governance, Risk and Compliance Technologies, 2010." Gartner Hype Cycles provide a graphic representation of the maturity and adoption of technologies and applications, and how they are potentially relevant to solving real business problems and exploiting new opportunities.

The "Hype Cycle for Government Transformation, 2010" notes that "some public sector agencies may have to deal with numerous freedom of information mandates, litigation hold, or legal investigation requests for information every year, resulting in high costs for compliance. For investigations that are being carried out by government agencies, e-discovery software has become a necessity, as their ability to cope with large amounts of data cannot be facilitated in any other way." The analyst report cites ZyLAB as an example of a vendor addressing those needs.

Included in both the "Hype Cycle for Content Management, 2010" and the "Hype Cycle for Governance, Risk and Compliance Technologies, 2010" are sections on e-discovery and records management. Both reports state that users are moving to acquire e-discovery software to reduce risk and drive cost savings. Gartner recommends evaluating products that can aid in the identification, preservation and collection of potential evidence, and cites ZyLAB as an example. The reports also note that records management initiatives are necessary to ensure that organizations retain the essential content for compliance and to support legal discovery. Gartner recommends that all public companies and government organizations should implement and maintain a comprehensive records management program, supported by appropriate processes and technology. ZyLAB is among the sample vendors listed.

The ZyLAB eDiscovery & Production system is aligned with all critical EDRM phases and addresses all key aspects of e-discovery from information management, to producing relevant data for opposing counsel, to integrating with trial presentation software. The system can be completely integrated with other litigation software and common repositories such as Microsoft SharePoint, databases, as well as ECM, CRM and ERP systems. The underlying information management platform is built around an XML data repository and provides authorized reviewers with access via standard Internet browsers. This helps accelerate case analysis and document review, as well as enables discovery activities to be automatically performed in-house, thereby allowing customers to maintain control and minimize costs.

The ZyLAB Compliance & Litigation Readiness system fosters enterprise-wide corporate governance to minimize disruptions and risks from future litigation or regulatory audits. The system includes robust records management and supports the creation, maintenance, and removal of millions of dynamic and static files - from board meeting minutes, to human resource records, to e-mail and multimedia, and any other content archives. Not only does it contain all of ZyLAB's eDiscovery products, ZyLAB's Compliance & Litigation Readiness system also includes contract management, e-mail management and other advanced capabilities to enhance the accessibility of enterprise information and make it easier to organize and manage.
