Technical Consultant

(Amsterdam)

Job Purpose

The Technical consultant carries out technical and functional implementations of software, train administrators and end-users, advice and delivers high quality service to ZyLAB’s customers.

ZyLAB Professional Services is responsible for delivering high quality consultancy services to ZyLAB customers and resellers for its eDiscovery and Enterprise Information Management technology.

General activities and tasks

The Technical Consultant will plan, coordinate and deliver client projects at the customer location.

Responsibility

The Technical Consultant is responsible for the successful completion of all client implementation activities of our software solutions. These implementation project activities include face to face client meetings for requirements analysis and definition, configuration of software, enhancement development, and testing, training and go-live support for client.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Independently write Statements of Works using the professional service estimate form
  • Independently set up, install and configure ZyLAB's products at customer’s location according to the Statement of Work
  • Bring knowledge level of ZyLAB’s partners on a higher plan by means of a training program
  • Independently communicate with customers and partners concerning the project treatment, project details and training programs
  • To set up, organizes and carry out training programs for end-users and resellers of ZyLAB
  • Keep up with literature/trade journals and other market developments in the field of ZyLAB’s activities
  • All work performed must be documented
  • Each Statement of Work has to be approved by the Manager PS
  • All work must be carried out as much as possible according to the internal ZyLAB procedures, as they can be found on the ZyLAB Intranet website
  • All arrangements and agreements between employee, colleagues, customers and possibly third parties must be confirmed in writing (after consultation with an agreement by the Manager PS)
  • Final agreements and promises in writing to customers and to third parties can only be done after consultation with and agreement from the Manager PS
  • Leads the implementation efforts for multiple projects in varying phases of implementation simultaneously
  • Meets directly with client’s business users to identify project objectives and business requirements and with client’s users to identify technical requirements
  • Works within overall project plan and schedule
  • Provides feedback to customers and creates structured documentation, including specifications and status reports
  • Advises client on configuration and implementation options based on best practices
  • Participates in the business requirements gathering process for client customizations
  • Participates in customization design sessions with the client and project team
  • Supports solution installation, customization, testing and deployment, including preparation of test scenarios
  • Oversees client user acceptance testing
  • Act as a technical mentor for clients in transferring solution critical knowledge
  • Collaborates with customer team participant
  • Ensures that all implementation methodology deliverables are complete and on-time

Your Profile

Education

  • Technical (IT) education preferably on Bachelor level and proven with IT
  • Certified in Microsoft products such as Microsoft Windows and SQL Server

Knowledge/Skills

  • A proven knowledge of at least two of the following Scripting/Programming paradigms is required: C# , JavaScript, , ASP, HTML, DHTML, .NET, XML, , COM Objects, CGI.
  • Have the understanding of infrastructures, databases, migrations, performance tuning, security models and system integrations in an enterprise scale project
  • Excellent communicator (verbal and written), with the ability to devise excellent solutions in consultation with the client
  • Great documentation skills (write documentation for customers)

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Extensive experience of Windows platforms
  • Practical experience of IIS and database technology such as MS SQL is required and experience with Oracle is highly desirable
